Balcorne Street, London: flat refurbishment
I wanted a complete update of my flat which included the essentials – boiler, rewiring, flooring and so on. I also wanted to work with someone who absolutely understood the aesthetic that I had in mind.
Joel Culley, founder of Studio Hako, was recommended to me by a friend who had previously worked with Joel. From the initial consultation, I was more than confident that I’d found the right person. It was refreshing to find someone, who not only could contend with the building side of the project, but also who had a discerning eye for style and detail.
The finished look was exactly as I’d hoped for – a minimal
contemporary feel, with which was easy on the eye, practical,
cool, and with lots of hidden storage. And from which I was
able to add splashes of colour to complete a relaxed, urban
and interesting living space.
I wouldn’t hesitate to have Joel and his team on board again, should I have any future projects.
Fermoie Showroom, Pimlico Road, London: refurbishment + shopfit
Fermoie appointed Joel Culley of Studio Hako as our Project
Manager and Contractor for our recent project to open a new
Flagship Showroom at 53-55 Pimlico Road.
From the initial meeting to discuss the project, through to on
time completion we were delighted with Joel and his team –
works were carried out to a high standard, with pride and
professionalism and with clear and regular communication
with all throughout.
Joel was dealing not only with his own team and contacts of
his, but also with contractors engaged independently by
Fermoie, with Grosvenor Estates as our landlord, and with
planning departments for gaining permissions for specific
works. In all cases his work was to a high standard, and we feel
fortunate to have had him running the project.
If you have any questions or would like to visit our newly opened Showroom at 53-55 Pimlico Road, London SW1W 8NE please do not hesitate to contact me.

Poco Restaurant, Broadway Market, London: refurbishment
Working with Joel of Studio Hako on the design and build
of our restaurant on Broadway Market was a joy. His
attention to detail is exceptional and married to a
profound passion for elegance and simplicity in design.
Certain structural elements within the building were very
prescriptive of how we could approach the build, time
and again though Joel demonstrated a brilliant creativity
when it came to problem solving; making complicated
issues seem simple, and remaining true to the simple
elegance of our aesthetic all the while.
The finished result was flawless and garnered a lot of
press, notably seeing us featured in by Elle Decoration
